Accounts and Permissions now available

Store owners can now control what their team members can access. This feature will help reduce errors & business risk and increase productivity by removing store owners as bottlenecks.  

Recharge permissions allows store owners to control account permissions at two critical points:
  1. Default new account permissions: Because both Shopify and BigCommerce allow platform users to create accounts in Recharge simply by visiting the app, Recharge permissions allows store owners to set a default level of permissions for all new accounts. That way, merchants can specify that all new accounts will only receive access to the "Customers" and "Orders" sections, for example.
  2. Existing account permissions: Store owners are able to view and edit the permissions of any existing user's store account--even users who have only ever accessed Recharge from Shopify.

How do permissions work? 

Permissions are used to determine which sections of the app a user can view. Users will only see sections of the application to which they have access. If they attempt to navigate to a section of the app that they do not have permission to see, they'll see an "Access denied" message instead of the page. These permissions are set at the account level, so a user with access to multiple stores can have different permissions for each individual store as determined by the store's owner.

Quick Actions is now generally available

Quick Actions is now generally available to be used with the Klaviyo v2 integration. 

Quick Actions are standard URLs that make it simple for customers to perform a variety of actions like skip, swap, reactivate and add a one-time product to their subscriptions. Once the customer verifies their identity using 2-factor authentication, they can perform the actions without needing to log into their portal.

RechargeSMS: Now available as an exclusive Recharge integration

We’re home folks

We are excited to announce the launch of the official RechargeSMS integration! Now merchants can easily enable this transactional SMS service for their store without the need to authorize with Shopify or Recharge.

What’s new?
  • All previous installations of RechargeSMS will continue to be accessible via the Apps view in their Shopify store.
  • All new instances of RechargeSMS will be enabled from the store’s Recharge Integrations page.
  • Merchants no longer need to enter their Shopify store URL into an installation page to authorize with Shopify or with Recharge.
How does it work?
  • By visiting the Recharge Integrations page, a merchant can simply click “Enable” and add RechargeSMS to their store.
  • After enabling SMS, the store owner can visit the enabled integrations page and click “Open” to re-open RechargeSMS
  • they can also revisit the application via the /sms URL structure.

New Storefront Widget Templates for Shopify Checkout!

Merchants using Recharge with Shopify Checkout Integration can now access all-new storefront widget templates. These templates were carefully selected to support a wide range of Shopify stores and themes. 

Recharge admins can access the following templates on the Widget Setting page of their Recharge Merchant Portal. 

  • Radio button (default)
  • Radio group
  • Button Group
  • Checkbox

Try them out today! These new templates are compatible with 70+ Shopify themes out-of-the-box.

Custom Favicon on Recharge Checkout!

Merchants using Recharge Checkout with their store can now set up a custom favicon that would replace the default Recharge favicon. For example, by displaying their favicon logo at checkout, merchants can deliver a more consistent brand experience for their subscribers. 

Similar to how merchants can set up their own logo icon, a URL for the Favicon is generated once the image is uploaded to your ecommerce store. The URL can then be copied into a new field within the Checkout settings section of the Recharge Merchant portal.

Improved performance for charge/upcoming webhook

All integrations with Recharge that rely on the charge/upcoming webhook can now benefit from the following improvements: 

  • Enhanced monitoring mechanisms to deliver a superior support experience to our merchants. 
  • ReCharge will send the webhook irrespective of when the charge is created as long as the charge date has not passed. 
  • ReCharge will send the webhook even if the charge is in error status prior to the actual charge date.

Bulk Add and Bulk Update Products

Bulk Add Products

What’s new? Merchants can now add products to ReCharge in bulk, up to a maximum of 25 at a time. 

How does it work? On the 'Products' page, click on 'Add products' to display the modal where you can select multiple products to add to ReCharge. These products will be added in an 'Inactive' state, which means they will need to be updated to have subscription properties before they are available for your customers as subscriptions.

Bulk Update Products

What’s new? Merchants can now bulk update products in ReCharge, up to a maximum of 100 at a time. This means that you can now, in bulk:
  1. Sync a set of products (where applicable)
  2. Remove products from ReCharge
  3. Update discount percentage (where applicable)
  4. Update subscription type and order frequencies

How does it work? When you navigate to your products page, you will be able to select multiple products across various pages (up to a max of 100) and use the drop-down options to choose what you want to do.

Discounts: Combine "minimum purchase amount" and "Product/Collection" restrictions!

You can now create discounts with both a "minimum purchase amount" requirement and Product/Category restrictions! This update unlocks new possibilities for stores who want to leverage "minimum purchase amount" discounts, but need to target the discount to include (or exclude) only certain items.

How it works:

This update allows you to create discount codes that require users to purchase a certain amount of specific products in order to redeem a discount on those products. For example:

  •  20% off items in Men's Grooming with purchase of $100 or more in collection with discount code GLOW20

In order to redeem this discount, shoppers must spend $100 or more on items in the Men's Grooming Collection, and the discount will only be applied on items in this collection.

How to set up your discount: 

It's easy to combine these discount restrictions in the discount builder. When creating a new discount, simply enter the "minimum purchase amount" you wish to require, then specify the product or collection to which the discount should apply.

Test Webhook Connectivity

Summary API Feature 

ReCharge has added support for testing webhooks, leveraging our latest, highly performant webhook architecture!

How to

Using the ReCharge API, you can now POST to the following URL, using a webhook_id that you have registered using your API Token:

https://api.rechargeapps.com/webhooks/<webhook_id>/test

Immediately following your request, a webhook with empty payload will be delivered to the registered address. This enables users to quickly and easily verify that they can receive Webhooks from ReCharge.

New Webhooks for Refunds and Cancelled Orders

With an average latency of just two seconds, webhooks are the best way for your connected applications to get real-time notification of events within ReCharge. In addition to significant performance improvements, ReCharge now offers two new webhook topics to keep systems in sync.

  • charge/refunded - When a charge is refunded from within the ReCharge Admin Portal or via API, a charge/refunded webhook will be dispatched to the subscribed URL. The webhook will contain the standard payload of a charge, included a total_refunds parameter to indicate the total refunded amount (in dollars) associated with the charge. 
  • order/cancelled  - when an order is cancelled from within the ReCharge Admin Portal or via API, an order/cancelled webhook will be dispatched to the subscribed URL. The webhook will contain the standard payload of an order webhook, including a status indicator denoting that the order has been cancelled.
