Subscription widget settings for BigCommerce

BigCommerce merchants can now configure all widget settings from the Subscription Widget settings page in the Recharge Merchant portal!

All widget settings are stored in the Recharge widget CDN. When the subscription widget is loaded on the product description page, the adapter will retrieve the settings from the widget CDN and display them on the page.

ShipperHQ Support for BigCommerce Customer Groups

Recharge now supports ShipperHQ’s Customer Group feature with BigCommerce. You can offer specific shipping rates that depend on the customer group a customer belongs to in ShipperHQ. For example, if you wanted to offer free shipping to customers that are in the military, then you could create a customer group called Military Customers and apply a free shipping rate.

How does it work?

  • When a cart is passed from BigCommerce to RCI checkout on BigCommerce, the customer group will be included as a notes attribute on the checkout
  • The customer group will be sent to ShipperHQ when retrieving shipping rates to ensure that shipping is calculated correctly.
  • Once the order is created, the customer group will be stored as a cart attribute on the purchase.
  • Recurring orders and Add/Swaps will also use the customer group stored in the cart attributes for the purchase.

“Expire after X charges” now available to merchants on BigCommerce

Now BigCommerce merchants can add the “expire after X charges” subscription setting to their products.

This is especially useful for a gift subscription. Since gift subscriptions are only purchased once, they will show up in your Recharge Dashboard as being canceled/expired automatically.

Streamlined UX update for Integrations page!

All merchants using Recharge can now 'manage' their enabled integrations directly from the landing page of the All Integrations tab of Merchant Portal.

How does it work
  • If the integration is not enabled, clicking the 'Get' button will initiate the process of enabling it
  • If the integration is enabled, the 'Get' button will be replaced by the 'Manage' button. Clicking on this will directly take the admin into the integration's landing page.

Additionally, there are visual updates to the UI for a more consistent experience for the Merchants admins visiting the Integrations tab. Please note that 'Enabled Integrations' tab remains unchanged in functionality.

New Theme Engine version now available

Merchants will now have visibility into the differences between every template version we launch and access to release notes and documentation.

In addition, rolling out new features will be less disruptive because they won’t affect your current theme and our team will better be able to support you because we will know exactly which version you are currently using.

In order for you to benefit from these changes, upgrade to the newest version of Base or Novum (3.0.0):

  1. Visit your Theme Editor Page.
  2. Create a new theme.
  3. Copy all of your customizations to the new theme.
  4. Publish your new theme.

Where can I learn more?

  • Theme Engine Versioning
  • Technical documentation
  • Release notes
  • “How-to” customization guides

Highlights of Novum 3.0.0 (full release notes):

  • CSS Improvements: Change the color palette and fonts through specific variables.
  • Order schedule: Set the intervals in non-descending order.
  • Product Inventory: The first check for product inventory is now done on external platforms (Shopify, for instance), setting either for the product to be added disregarding inventory (inventory_management) or verifying inventory beforehand. Lastly, the customer portal will look for the Recharge settings.
  • Translations for Customer portal: There are now more variables included in the Translations section, covering 100% of Novum’s UI, including things such as the shorthand values for days in the calendar.
  • Adding cursor pagination to Novum: When customers navigate between the product pages (either when adding or swapping products, or within the Toss these in section), they end up with the latest data.
  • Adding Collections feature to default Novum code: Create a collection, add products to it and those products will be available in the customer portal through every flow in Novum.

Highlights of Base 3.0.0 (full release notes):

  • Updated look & feel: The theme includes all standard features, and represents a perfect starting point for further customizations.
  • Mobile-friendly design: The theme was built with a mobile-first approach.
  • CSS Improvements: Change the color palette and fonts through specific variables.
  • Translations for Customer portal: More variables included in the Translations section, covering 100% of Base’s UI, including things such as the shorthand values for days in the calendar.

New Industry Benchmarks LIVE

All merchants using Recharge now have access to new Industry Benchmarks.

What’s new?
On the Industry Benchmarks dashboard there are now benchmarks for 6 metrics, each with their own percentile ranking:
  1. Total Net Sales
  2. Avg Customer Value (ACV)
  3. Avg Order Value (AOV)
  4. Avg Active Days
  5. Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)
  6. Avg Monthly Churn Rate

Avg Active Days is a new metric that measures the average number of days customers are active on the merchant store, and how that compares with other stores within that same industry.

The bar chart side of the dashboard now shows what decile a store ranks in and how that compares with other merchants in the decile preceding and proceeding that store. In each of these bars, there are also new additional insights including:
  • Average decile value for each metric on top of each bar
  • Percentile range below each bar, as well as the min and max values within each decile
Note: A merchant must have at least 20 active customers to be among the comparison cohort.
