Now available! Multi-currency integrated with Shopify Markets.

All merchants using Recharge with Shopify Checkout Integration can now access comprehensive multi-currency support which is fully integrated with Shopify Markets. 

Once a merchant enables multiple currencies in their Shopify Markets portal, Recharge will seamlessly and automatically reflect the same configuration across all key merchant/customer touchpoints. 

  • Storefront: To display local currency during product selection via Shopify Subscription Widget 2.0
  • Customer portal: To ensure subscribers are presented with accurate pricing information (value and/or currency) while viewing or adjusting their subscriptions
  • Merchant portal: To allow merchant users to view the currencies of transactions and subscriptions within the portal or on data exports
  • API: For merchants looking to build custom solutions and experiences, Recharge will also surface currency information across subscriptions, orders, and charges API resources
  • Notifications: Currency awareness is built into our email notifications and also supported within our Klaviyo integration

New Klaviyo Metric! - 'Subscription paused in Recharge'

All merchants who have enabled the setting 'Pause as a retention step before cancel' now have access to a new Klaviyo metric - 'Subscription paused in Recharge'. 

This metric, alongside the many other metrics and properties we send to Klaviyo, allows merchants to set up targeted email campaigns and flows, specifically designed for paused customers.

Merchants using Shopify Checkout Integration can now create and configure a Recharge-specific Shipping Profile in Shopify, giving them fine-tuned control over their subscription shipping settings, including:
  • Configure shipping rates to specific countries and regions to fit your business needs
  • Compatibility with conditional shipping logic based on price and weight at a cart level
  • Setting a distinct shipping rate for subscriptions, including setting it as ’free'

Multi-currency presentment now supported for charge line item details

For multi-currency charges processed after January 24, 2023, all merchants using Shopify Checkout Integration with multiple currencies will now be able to view

  • the exact amount paid for charge line items (as reported in Shopify order details) and 
  • the customer’s presentment currency in which the amount was paid

The data will be viewable in the charge details of the Recharge Merchant Portal as well as exported reports (Charges - Processed).

Customize shipping rates with Shopify Shipping Profiles (Beta)

Merchants using Recharge with Shopify Checkout Integration can now create advanced shipping options for their subscription orders while leveraging Shopify Shipping profiles. This also allows merchants to configure their shipping settings directly within their Shopify portal.

Currently in beta, merchants can use this feature to: 

  • Set a distinct shipping rate for all subscription orders, including the ability to set ‘free shipping’ for subscription orders only
  • Enable conditional shipping logic, such as ‘price-based’ and ‘weight-based’ shipping 
  • Limiting 'free shipping' to certain regions/countries

Decrease customer churn by up to 10% through the pause subscription feature

You can now enable a setting that allows your customers to pause a subscription instead of canceling. Customers who click ‘cancel’ from within the customer portal will be met with a pop-up asking them if they would prefer to pause their subscriptions instead.

Improve subscriber experience with price-based shipping for recurring orders

For Recharge merchants using Shopify Checkout Integration, Recharge now uses Shopify shipping profiles to honor price-based shipping on recurring orders. Enabled by default, Recharge will automatically determine the shipping rate on recurring orders based on the price charged to the customer, including Subscribe and Save discounts and price overrides. 

Merchants not using price-based shipping with Shopify will not be impacted by this release. To learn more, visit this help center article.

Increase customer retention with passwordless login

Passwordless login allows your customers to easily login to their customer portal using a 4-digit authentication code sent via SMS or email (both if your customers have a phone number on file). If you’re on Shopify Plus, Multipass will allow your customers to be logged into both their Recharge customer portal and Shopify account.

This feature makes it easier for your customers to manage their subscription, reducing customer churn and customer support tickets.
